Acer → Acer Aspire 5630 Laptop

Acer Aspire 5630

With the tagline of “Just Dual It” (how witty!), the Acer Aspire 5630 is suppose to be as efficient as you mum and according to Acer an amalgamation of both a work PC and an entertainment PC. The current favorite Intel® Core™ 2 Duo dual-core processor juices it up and it uses Windows® XP Home Edition (Service Pack 2) as its Operating System. For top notch graphical performance the notebook has the NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7600 3D graphics with 256 MB of VRAM.

Acer Aspire 3103

It seems Acer is letting the rubber cool just a bit on its feverish Ferrari releases, and looking to add another (relatively) run-of-the-mill option to the long standing Aspire lineup with the 3103 WLCi. While certainly not as potent (or ginormous) as the 20-inch Aspire 9800, Acer is apparently aiming for the value-conscious crowd with this offering.

Yahoo to become default search engine on all Acer notebooks

Taiwan-based PC maker Acer and Yahoo signed a multi-year partnership to set Yahoo as the default search engine on all Acers sold globally.

According to Gartner Dataquest, in the second quarter of 2006, Acer was the number three notebook vendor worldwide, and the top vendor in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

The partnership will give Acer's customers access to a number of Yahoo services, and will include a co-branded toolbar and start page on all its PCs.

Acer → More Acer Ferrari laptops: the 1005WTMi and 5005WLHi

Acer Ferrari 1005WTMi

We never really expected Acer's Ferrari lineup of notebooks to sell all that well, but once again we've been proven wrong, as the company has apparently sold enough of these overpriced machines to warrant spec bumps for both the 1000 and 5000 series. First up is the revamped 12.1-inch 1005WTMi, which packs a pretty decent feature set for a 3.6-pound ultraportable, including a 2.0GHz AMD Turion 64 X2 processor, ATI Mobility Radeon X1150 graphics with 512MB of VRAM, a full 2GB of DDR2 RAM, 160GB worth of HDD capacity, and of course, Bluetooth 2.0 and three-flavor WiFi standard.
