Laptops → Everex teams with VIA for NC1500, the "world's most energy efficient notebook"

We try not to get embroiled in these "world's bestest" sort of arguments, mainly due to the sort of research and journalistic integrity it would require on our part. That's why we're not going to get caught up in this "world's most energy efficient notebook" claim of VIA and Everex regarding the new StepNote NC1500 from Everex, but it is what it is, and we sure wouldn't mind some sort of performance-per-watt showdown between Intel, AMD and VIA, all vying for our holiday laptop dollar.

The last time Apple had some serious machine cracking going on was way back in the Cube days (unless you want to talk about those minor incidents early on with the nanos) but here's a disturbing new one: MacBooks with exteriors starting to crack and distort the chassis under normal usage conditions.

Epson offers a new professional laptop - Epson Endeavor NJ2000 - in BTO, with a 15.4” wide display and a resolution of 1280x800. It can receive different configurations, such as a Core 2 Duo T7600 with a maximum of 2GB of RAM.
